Javier Creixell, the general manager of Magnesitas Navarras, took part in the ceremony to hand over donations to the Associations of Children with Cancer, organised by the Remonte Foundation, which rewards his work to help and support these children and their families.
The event was held within the framework of the semifinals of the Christmas 2018, 14th Singles Tournament of Remonte (game played on a Jai Alai court using a reed basket to throw and catch the ball), held at the Labrit court in Pamplona. It was well attended by all the associations based in the cities visited on the occasion of the International Professional Remonte Circuit 2018, a tournament sponsored by MAGNA.
In addition to representatives from the Navarra association, ADANO, the event was also attended by Aspanafoa (Álava), Aspanovas (Vizcaya), Aspanogi (Guipúzcoa), Galban (Asturias), Amara (Cantabria), Pyfano (Castilla y Léon), Aspanoa (Aragón), Asion (Madrid) and Afanoc (Cataluña).
During the festival, prizes were also given to the Remonte players who had competed throughout the year in the International Professional Remonte Circuit 2018.
Magnesitas Navarras has been supporting Remonte on an ongoing basis since 2006, showing its commitment to a sport that originated in Navarra and that boasts a history that stretches back more than 110 years. In this way, the company has helped to promote this type of Jai Alai and to give it continuity, “committed to upholding the traditions of this land”.
In addition to the support for sports activities, initiatives of this type also collaborate in social causes that help the most vulnerable people through the promotion of sport and its values
