The company participates in the Mining Program MinerÉTICA: contributing to local sustainability, an initiative of the Government of Navarra, in collaboration with the City Council of Pamplona and the mining associations and companies of the sector that aims to raise awareness about the need for minerals in our daily lives and its importance in the sustainable future.

The Regional Minister of Economic and Business Development, Manu Ayerdi, presented MinerÉTICA 2019 program, framed in the celebration of the European Minerals Day (#EUMineralsDay), which will take place from next Tuesday, September 17. Among the activities organised, there are guided visits to the mines of Navarra, as well as workshops with minerals, exhibitions and the V Meeting of Mining in Navarra Conference. The program aims to raise awareness of the use of mineral resources on a daily basis and increase knowledge about the role of the mining sector in our society.

On behalf of MAGNA, Jorge Baños, Deputy General Manager, and Alberto Josa, Mining Director, participated in the presentation. Representatives of the Association of Manufacturers of Aggregates and Extractive Mining Industry of Navarra (AFARIME), the Mining Business Association of Navarra (AEMINA) and the companies Geoalcali and Lhoist were in the press conference.

The first activity, the exhibition “The essential minerals for a sustainable future”, in which MAGNA has collaborated, will be inaugurated on Tuesday, the 17th, with a conference on industrial minerals in everyday life. The exhibition aims to raise awareness about the importance of minerals and their contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations for the year 2030. It could be visited until October 4 at the Museum of Environmental Education in Pamplona. Also, guided tours of the Eugi mine are scheduled on September 19 and 20.
